Bio:
Jason Goldfarb

Originally from Brooklyn, Jason Goldfarb received his PhD in Literature from Duke University in 2022. His research specializes in 20th and 21st century American literature, continental philosophy, and the social sciences more broadly. He has published on topics as diverse as film, media, politics, and the economy, and is interested in working both inside and outside of academia to expand the reach of humanistic study.

In his professional career, Jason has had over five years of experience as a writing instructor, academic tutor, and private admissions counselor. He has taught writing at the university level and has worked one-on-one with high-school students on college applications and English language skills. He has worked extensively with students on application essays, extracurricular profiles, and interview preparation, as well as with undergraduates and postgraduates on grant and fellowship applications and research proposals. As part of his process, he uses his firsthand knowledge of academia—both as a Duke PhD graduate and as a faculty instructor at CUNY and Hofstra University—to offer students insight into their admission application. His student-centered approach, one that works with students to refine and express their unique interests and skills, produces optimal admission outcomes and prepares students for the world at large.
